BRA CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY: 10/23/97 – 10/23/07. 03 November, 2006

NEW YORK, New York. The Batey Relief Alliance (BRA) will celebrate in 2007 its 10th year anniversary as a humanitarian aid entity addressing the socio-economic conditions for children and families severely affected by poverty, disease and hunger in the Caribbean, including those languishing in the bateyes of the Dominican Republic. Founded in 1997 by US-trained attorney, Ulrick Gaillard, BRA quickly became one of the fastest growing and most respected institutions working inside the Dominican Republic in recent years. Through its regional arm headquartered in Santo Domingo, the BRA DOMINICANA, BRA manages multi-million dollar annual budgets and implements projects in HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Blindness Prevention, Disaster Relief, Preventive Health Education, Water/Sanitation, Primary Care, etc. BRA is known to be the first to create an entire healthcare system delivering services to the affected populations inside their own communities deterring fears of deportation, rejection or discrimination. Between 2003-2006, the organization installed two modern medical facilities inside the bateyes. These are some of the achievements of the BRA in just ten years.
