Ulrick Gaillard joins President Bill Clinton at Clinton Global Initiative Latin America Meeting.

05 December, 2013

NEW YORK. – Batey Relief Alliance’s founder/CEO, Ulrick Gaillard, has been invited by the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) to participate in the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Latin America Meeting from December 8 – 10, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

At the CGI Latin America meeting, President Clinton will join regional and global leaders to move beyond discussion and drive action on the world’s most pressing challenges.

According to the CGI, Latin America has continued to achieve great economic success—emphasizing the need for cross-sector partnerships at the local, regional, and international levels to ensure sustainable, responsible growth. CGI Latin America will engage key leaders from the private sector, government, civil society, and nongovernmental organizations to network and drive the notion of shared responsibility in building lasting solutions, both regionally and globally. By strengthening these partnerships, examining successful initiatives, and investigating new strategies for fostering a culture of innovation, contemporary challenges can be met by a prosperous global community.

In 2011, BRA successfully completed two CGI Commitments, providing skills training and microcredit to 150 Haitian women in Haiti, and delivering clean water and comprehensive health and HIV/AIDS care and education to 2,300 families in the Dominican Republic. In 2013, BRA introduced another Commitment, improving malnutrition and maternal health for 2000 children and 450 pregnant and nursing women living in 19 vulnerable and impoverished urban communities of Lima, Peru.
