NEW YORK, New York, February 15, 2005. Google is the world’s largest search engine, with access to 4.28 billion web pages, and one of the five most popular sites on the Internet. Google is used around the world by millions of people, and the Google search engine is available in more than 100 language interfaces.

Google recently launched Google Grants, a test program that provides free Google AdWords advertising to selected non-profits that apply to the program. ?We are very pleased that the Batey Relief Alliance (BRA) has been selected to participate in our program. After careful review of all the applications we have received, we have chosen the BRA based on the strength of its work and application, and potential to benefit from free Google AdWords advertising. We’re excited to be able to help the organization reach its target audience with public service messages using AdWords, ?said Cynthia Schroeder Google Grants Administrator.

The BRA will receive a minimum of three months of free advertising at a cost of close to $4000 per day. As a participant to the program, BRA?s text-based ads will appear alongside or above Google search results whenever someone enters a search into Google that matches the keywords selected for the organization?s public awareness campaign. Clicking on the ad takes searchers to the BRA?s website where they can find additional information.

The BRA delivers humanitarian services to needy populations of the Caribbean region, including the Dominican Republic and Haiti. ?We are excited for this great opportunity given to us by Google. We are confident that this new partnership will help save lives and improve living conditions in Haiti, the bateyes of the Dominican Republic and other economically devastated areas where children and families are unduly deprived of the most basics for their human survival,? said Ulrick Gaillard, BRA?s CEO.
