Batey Relief Alliance’s founder to present at Clinton Global Initiative’s 2014 Annual Meeting

NEW YORK.- On September 23, 2014, Batey Relief Alliance’s founder and CEO, Ulrick Gaillard will be among a selected few to deliver a “Pitching for Partnerships” presentation at CGI’s Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City from September 21-24.

Gaillard will introduce a BRA’s CGI Commitment to Action launched in 2014 scaling up a program to improve early childhood and maternal child health from the Dominican Republic to 12 of Lima’s most dangerous, vulnerable and impoverished urban communities. Over the course of two years, BRA will distribute micronutrients and anti-parasitic medicines to 2,000 children and 450 pregnant and nursing women – thus improving their health and lives. BRA aims to expand its maternal-child health program with the country’s Ministry of Health to serving, from 2015-2020, an additional 12,000 children and 5,000 women living in many parts of Peru’s rural, Afro-Peruvian, indigenous and poor populations of the Amazon and mountain regions where extreme poverty and child malnutrition continue to increase rapidly.

According to CGI, moving from proof-of-concept to successful scale up is often the biggest test to proving a program’s long-term viability and potential to achieve meaningful impact. The selected CGI commitment-makers will “pitch” their Commitments to Action, sharing the concept, progress, and vision for their project’s next stages of growth. An expert panel and CGI member audience will ask the “pitch maker” to dig deeper into their pitch, with the goal of mobilizing potential new resources and partnerships to scale their work. The session will end with time dedicated to open networking. The CGI audience is comprised of 200 distinguished individuals from around the world including private sector CEOs, heads of state, philanthropists, Nobel laureates, NGO leaders, and prominent members of the media.
