Clean Water

Launched in 2006 to help fight water-borne infections among vulnerable populations.

The BRA Clean Water Initiative delivers drinking water to help children and families fight water-borne infections, especially among those who are highly vulnerable, including people living with HIV and AIDS, children and other people with a low immune system. After installing water systems and pumps in the communities, BRA ensures the safety of the water by distributing bio-sand water filters and now millions of P&G water purifier sachets. As a second layer of protection against intestinal diseases, BRA also distributes anti-worm medicines to the populations. To date, BRA has built 19 water systems and distributed over 23 million P&G water purifier sachets, providing 230 million liters of clean drinking water to more than 70 thousand families in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Peru.
